National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah will contest Lok Sabha election from Baramulla, while Shia clergyman Aga Ruhullah Mehdi will be the NC candidate from Srinagar constituency. NC has already fielded Gujjar leader Main Altaf from Anantnag-Rajouri against former CM and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti. Ghulam Nabi Azad’s party, Democratic Progressive Azad Party, had also announced his candidature from Anantnag, but sources claimed the former Congress leader had decided to withdraw from the race.
