“Over the next few days, the Yatra will see lakhs of devotees from across the state converge at Ghaziabad’s Dudeshwar Nath temple.On Shivratri, which falls on August 2 this year, the number of devotees is likely to swell to more than 10 lakh. So, the district magistrate has ordered the closure of all schools and higher educational institutions from Monday,” said Dharmendra Sharma, the district inspector of schools.
He further added that the order has been communicated to all schools, and any institution that violates the order will be penalized. There are about 50 higher secondary and 80 primary schools that fall along the Kanwar route in the city.
Muzaffarnagar’s Order on School Closure
In Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, District Magistrate Arvind Mallapa announced the closure of schools and colleges from July 26 to August 2, 2024, as per reports.
The order mandates the closure of all primary, upper primary, secondary, CBSE, ICSE board-recognized schools, madrasas, degree colleges, DIET, and technical institutes for the eight-day period from July 26 to August 2, 2024.
Hapur and Haridwar’s Order on School Closure
Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur administration has also announced a school holiday for all government and private schools until August 2, 2024, due to the Yatra. In Hapur, schools will remain closed from July 26 to August 2, 2024. District Magistrate Prerna Sharma, as per reports, said that all government and private schools have also been given a holiday to ensure that nobody faces any issues while traveling.
According to reports, schools will remain closed in Haridwar from July 27 to August 2, 2024. The decision to close schools has been taken due to the huge rush of devotees expected to arrive for the Kanwar Yatra.
